Pass Plus
Pass Plus is a training course aimed at new drivers, designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years after their test, because of their lack of driving experience. Pass Plus builds on your skills and knowledge. It will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards, to help you become a more confident driver.
The benefits you will get from taking the Pass Plus Course include gaining valuable driving experience in different road and traffic conditions. Also some, but not all, Insurance companies will give a significant discount on your Insurance Premium, anything up to 30% off your first years cover. This will enable you to build up your no claims discount for the next year, providing you don't make any claims during the first year.
Pass Plus consists of six modules which are:
1/ Introduction and In town driving.
2/ All weather driving.
3/ Out of town driving (on rural/country roads).
4/ Night driving.
5/ Dual Carriageway driving.
6/ Motorway driving.
You have to complete all six modules and undertake at least six hours of training. Additional hours may be needed to suit individual needs. But don't worry, you will not have to take another driving test as you are continually assessed by me.
To gain your Pass Plus certificate, your driving skills need to demonstrate that you have 'achieved' or 'exceeded' the required skills and knowledge in each module. I can then issue you with a certificate to say you have reached the required standard which you then send off to the DSA who will then issue your 'Pass Plus Certificate'.
